I use Google Adsense to serve ads on this site. Adsense will attempt to install the DoubleClick DART cookie on your browser, which will gather information about your browser’s interaction with the advertisements on this site. This information will not include your name, address, email address, or telephone number. The intent is to tailor advertisements to your interests and prevent showing you the same ads repeatedly. If you want to learn more, visit the Google Advertising Center – Advertising and Privacy Page. From that page, you can also permanently opt-out of interest-based advertising for Adsense and few other advertising cookies, which will prevent your browser from installing those cookies in the future. In addition, I am also using Google Analytics, which allows me to view website trends without identifying individual visitors.  Analytics installs its own separate cookie on your browser for each subscribing site you visit, and you are not tracked across multiple sites.  This cookie stores information about when you visited this site, whether you have been here before, and what site referred you here.  You can learn more about this at the Google Privacy Center, and you can also try the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Just a tip for Firefox users: If you install the Adblock Plus Add-on and subscribe to the EasyList, you wont have to worry about seeing any of my Google Adsense advertisements or installing the doubleclick cookie, because this will all be blocked. I’m not sure if it will also block the Google Analytics cookie, but that one is less annoying anyway.
